White Eagles Open - Real Wyckoff                2:5
R. Bojovic (2)

A dispirited performance by the Open team to start the 2009/2010 Spring campaign.  More than half of the regular first team players were not available for this game, but that is no excuse for such a poor performance at home in front of the supporters.

Radoslav Bojovic scored the first two goals for the White Eagles in the first 15 minutes of the game and all looked great at that point.  However Wyckoff showed great spirit and composure and slowly got back into the game.  They pulled one back to make it 1:2 and then evened the score before the half.

The second half was all Real Wyckoff.  Dragan Naumoski's red card sealed the fate of the White Eagles as Wyckoff put in three more in the second half to triumph at the White Eagles home field.

White Eagles Over 30 - Livingston                4:1
V. Nozinic (2), M. Rakonjac (1), Own goal (1)

White Eagles made it two in a row in the Spring season.  This was a tightly contested game as it was 1-1 at the half. White Eagles kept playing their short passing game in the second half and it paid dividends in the end.

Nozinic and Rakonjac finished two great chances late in the game to keep all three points at home in front of the supporters at the White Eagles soccer complex.

White Eagles now have hopes in finishing in the top three spots in the North Jersey Soccer league Over 30 division.

Sportfriends SC - White Eagles Over 30                3:4
A. Matijasevic (1), D. Dobrijevic (1), V. Nozinic (1), M. Rakonjac (1)

A great win for the over 30 team to start the Spring campaign against one of the top teams in the league.  This was a back and forth game that could have gone either way similar to the Fall meeting.  After falling behind early 0:2, the White Eagles hung in there and kept playing their precise passing game to create chances.

The game was wide open and Mirko Raketic, the White Eagles goalkeeper, kept the team in it in the first half.

White Eagles however got the breaks late in the game and took all three points thanks to some timely finishing by their strikers.

The team looks forward the continuing the trend in the Spring as many players now have finally been registered.

White Eagles Open - Vistula SC        6 : 3
S. Dobrijevic (2), D. Naumoski (2), R. Bojovic (1), D. Siljanovski (1)

White Eagles were determined to get their first win of the Spring campaign in Parsippany against Vistula.  However things did not start off great as the visitors took an early lead on an own goal by White Eagles defender Erik Kotynski.

Radoslav Bojovic leveled soon after on a cross from Sasa Dobrijevic from the right wing.  Bojovic is making a run to be the league's leading scorer after tonight's game.

Dobrijevic was again heavily involved in the outcome when he was brought down in the box, Dragan Naumoski was sure from the spot to make it 2-1.  Naumoski increased the lead just before the half to make it 3-1 on a run from the midfield.

Vistula brought one back to make it 3-2, but then Dobrijevic and Siljanovski added three more goals to put the game out of reach.

The win secured second place in the Champions League with a glimmer of hope left for first place.

Dusan Savic comes to America to support the White Eagles!!

The great Dusan Savic came to the United States to visit one of the most successful Serbian clubs on the North American continent - the White Eagles Soccer Club from Paterson New Jersey.  It was a fantastic night as over 200 players and fans of the club came out support the White Eagles and meet Duan Savic.  The annual fund raising dinner was a great success for the club and Savic was very impressed with the club's organization and accomplishments.

Savic was presented an honorary team banner and was given a personalized gift by the club president Dragan Vasic.  The next day Savic toured the soccer club's facilities in Hope New Jersey and also attended church services at Saint John the Baptist Serbian Orthodox Church in Paterson, NJ.  The White Eagles Soccer Club functions under the auspices of the Saint John the Baptist Serbian Orthodox Church.
In addition to Dusan Savic, Vladislav Bogicevic, who is the current coach of the White Eagles and Savic's former captain at Red Star Belgrade attended the event.  Sinisa Ubiparipovic also highlighted the guest list, Sinisa is a current player of the Red Bulls of New York in Major League Soccer.

The night was capped off with an auction of an original autographed Red Star Belgrade jersey that Savic brought with him from Serbia.  The jersey garnered numerous bids - the winner had to pay over $1000 for the jersey who Savic signed at the dinner.

The White Eagles Soccer Club is honored that a legend of Serbian football made the trip to the United States to support an ethnic Serbian club that competes far away from its homeland.

Many thanks to the supporters who attended the event and who continually assist the club in various ways.

Best of luck to the White Eagles Soccer Club in 2010!!

Take a look below at some pictures taken during this memorable event.

White Eagles Over 30 - Ballyowen                2:2

White Eagles Over 30 team played a disciplined defensive game as Ballyowen had their sights set on three points right from the start.  The team fell behind early 1-0 on a miscommunication in the back, which led to the goal.

Vladislav Nozinic pulled one back just before the half to even the scoring, Nozinic has been one of the most consistent players for the White Eagles all year.

It seemed as if all was lost when Ballyowen took the lead 2-1, 10 minutes from the final whistle, but the league's leading scorer, Milun Rakonjac, knotted the game at two in the final minute.

White Eagles now have a chance to finish in third place in their first year in the North Jersey Soccer League World division.

May 15 - League Cup
Vistula SC - White Eagles Open        4:1
S. Bursac (1)

White Eagles ended their season by losing in the league cup opening round to the Poles from Garfield.  White Eagles fielded a much younger team than the regular season to give the young players some good experience going into next season.

Two quick goals in the opening 15 minutes by Vistula really made it an uphill battle all night for the young kids who are lacking in experience.

Sasa Bursac scored in the second half, and almost added another by hitting the post.  However, Vistula held on late and quietly finished the game to move on to the next round.

White Eagles Open - SC Portuguese        1:1
D. Siljanovski (1)

White Eagles gave it their all on this night but came up short.  The team needed all three points from the game to keep their title hopes alive.  The tie leaves the team finishing in a very respectable second place in New Jersey's Champions League.

The Portuguese opened the scoring on a questionable hand ball on the edge of the area in the 31st minute.  After the goal, the Portuguese looked lively and almost added a second on a couple of occasions.  White Eagles then relieved some of the pressure and David Siljanovski tied the game on a blast from about twenty meters in the 40th minute.

In the second half the Portuguese pulled back and absorbed much of the pressure as they waited for their chances on counter attacks knowing that they only needed a tie.  The White Eagles pressure paid off in the 63rd minute as Siljanovski was pulled down in the box.  Dragan Naumoski however was not able to convert the spot kick.

The miss deflated the team, however in the last fifteen minutes of the game the team applied constant pressure on the Portuguese goal but were not able to score.

The team deserved all three points from this game, but it was not meant to be.

Milun Rakonjac added a second on another assist by Popovic.  Quickly the lead grew to 5-0 at the half-time break.

White Eagles Over 30 - Livingston Shillelagh                3:4
A. Matijasevic (1), M. Rakonjac (1), M. Popovic (1)

A terrible loss at home for the White Eagles Over-30 team.  The team had their hopes of winning the league cup dashed by Livingston.

The game started fantastic as the White Eagles went up 2-0, however poor marking in the back allowed Livingston to tie the game at two in the first half.

The team again took the lead 3-2, but a questionable penalty call tied the game at three with ten minutes to go.  Just as penalty kicks loomed Livingston added a fourth to move on to the next round.

White Eagles Over 30  --  Korona        2:4
M. Rakonjac (1), A. Matijasevic (1)

White Eagles Over 30 team lost for the second time this season to Korona of Wallington.  The team was well prepared for the game however a straight red card given to Slavko Gavrilovic in the 23rd minute made the task of beating the Poles extremely difficult.

Korona opened the scoring in the first minute of the game with a vicious shot from about 25 meters.  Milun Rakonjac tied the game with a break away he finished to make the game 1:1.  Ten minutes later again the same Korona player blasted a rocket from about 25 meters to make the game 2:1 for the visitors.  Shortly afterward the crucial moment of the game came when Gavrilovic was sent off for elbowing a defenseless opponent.

White Eagles hung tough with ten players with a couple of chances before the half to tie the score at two but could not.  Korona added two goals to put the game out of reach and now the White Eagles chances of finishing in first place in the league are for the most eliminated.

The consolation prize would be to win the league cup where the team plays Livingston in the round of 16 next week.
